What I Shed Today

lightening up a little at a time

who i used to be

on January 28, 2014

Today I make another start at letting go of who I used to be that I no longer am.

(That lets me off the hook for some very bad hair years, ha-ha! And leaves cherished hopes behind. But a light, lifting song calls from a distance, and I think if I walk that direction I might hear it clearer … and if not, well, in any case, the journey is home.)

shedding style: release

Comments welcome … what might you shed today?

  1. Trying to shed art I made when I was just beginning to paint, not yet any good. But it reminds me that I persevered and improved. Hard to let that go!

I have an itch in my brain that Julia Cameron, in _The Artist’s Way_, says something about those early children of a creative endeavor … but it might have been that we tend to want to bury them! Good for you that you cherish yours, I think!
