What I Shed Today

lightening up a little at a time

Christmas thing

on August 12, 2014

Nimue stumped me with this one, which came out of a “black hole” box. Not from whom it came (that was on the gift tag, still attached), nor when it was given to us (about ten years ago, we worked out). It’s nice: a white ceramic plate, twelve-and-three-eighths inches in diameter, with openings though which a red and green-printed ribbon is pulled. Just … what is it, other than a Christmas thing?

Guesses and suggestions for giving it a purpose are welcome. But for now it’s queued up to go to the thrift store.

A new ribbon, a new life. Is it a trivet? Or a giant coaster? Jo @ Let’s Face the Music

Yeah, it’s the ribbon that both makes and breaks the thing. I don’t think it wants to party with food and drink. But “giant coaster,” I like!
