What I Shed Today

linux bibles

Off bookshelves that have been inaccessible behind a wall of boxes came two big fat computer books … “bibles,” we called them, or sometimes “bricks.” These were published in 2002 and 1998. Though some of the commandments—er, I mean commands—are set in stone (well, man pages), old telephone directories might be more current. They’re already in the recycling bin.

Books like these appear in the nightmares of trees ... electronic documents are a Better Idea.

shedding style: recycle
destination: community recycling stream

Comments welcome … if you could ls -iS the contents of your bookshelves, would old computer documentation head the output?

I recently recycled a whole bunch of old graphic design programs books. Technology moves so fast. Those books have no use anymore. Good job getting rid of them and making more space.
